Staffing World 2006 Wrap-up
Like most events that take place in Las Vegas, it's never
hard to draw a crowd at the gambling mecca of the world; for
Staffing World 2006, the record- breaking attendance of 2,700
proved it. And for vendors like eEmpACT, it was a busy week in
the expo hall, showing current and potential customers the
robust capabilities of our front and back office software
solution.
The week kicked off with the Annual Fall
User Group at The Venetian, where users were able to network
and learn about the latest advances in eEmpACT Version 14. In
the expo hall, attendees couldn't miss the new 20x40 Bond
booth, making history at ASA as the largest exhibitor display
pavilian ever.
Although the size of the booth
attracted a lot of attention, more importantly was the
information provided by the knowledgeable eEmpACT staff.
Noteably, eEmpACT's new integration with staffing
communication guru InstaStaff created quite a buzz, as the
need for faster and more efficient communications are crucial
in the competitive staffing industry.
So between the
user group, expo, cocktail receptions and free Starbucks
coffee, hopefully you were able to interact with the team at
eEmpACT at some point during your visit to Staffing World
2006. For eEmpACT it was another successful year at the
staffing industry's largest show! Contact eEmpACT today! Click to email or call

Manpower Chooses Bond In $12 million Global
Deal
(Bond International Software plc., United Kingdom.)
Bond International Software, the world's leading supplier
of specialist recruitment software solutions, has been chosen
by Manpower to deploy its pioneering Adapt software (Version
11) as the basis for Manpower's global front office system
throughout the world-wide network of 4,400 offices in more
than 70 countries. The deal, worth up to $12m over five years,
has been awarded to Bond following an in- depth technical and
functional review.
The decision is based on several key
criteria; primarily, Adapt's multi-lingual support allows any
number of languages to be embedded within one database and all
text can be presented in the native language and character set
of the specific user wherever they may be. In addition, Adapt
is fully platform and database independent, scaleable and
configurable, with comprehensive self-service features.
Thirdly, Bond is the largest and most experienced provider of
staffing software solutions world-wide, with 30 years
experience, a global support presence and thousands of clients
in more than 40 countries.
"These robust and versatile
capabilities place the Adapt suite of software at the
cornerstone of most of the world's leading staffing companies"
explains CEO Steve Russell. "This important responsibility is
underpinned by our continuous program of product and service
development."
"We are honored to partner an

Holiday Retail Hiring Outlook 2006
Retailers Enter Holiday Season with a Smidge of
Caution
By John Rossheim Monster Senior Contributing
Writer
Retail sales and the hiring of seasonal
workers should be good -- not great -- in 2006, in the eyes of
industry and independent observers.
Holiday sales are
projected to grow 5 percent over last year, according to the
trade group National Retail Federation (NRF). That's less than
the 6.1 percent growth racked up in 2005 but more than the
average 4.6 percent annual increase over the last 10
years.
As for seasonal hiring, last year set a high bar
against which this year's numbers will be measured. Hiring was
robust for the 2005 season at 629,000 workers, representing a
20 percent increase over 2004 and the first time holiday
hiring grew by more than 100,000 year-over-year in the past 10
years.
"This will be the fifth year in a row that
we'll see an increase in seasonal jobs," says Dan Butler, a
vice president at NRF in Washington, DC. Holiday hiring will

CEO Update
Staffing for the holiday rush
Well, the holidays have crept up on us yet again, and the
next few weeks will go by even faster. It's a fun time of year
enjoyed by many, including those in the temporary staffing
industry. And for good reason; the hustle and bustle of retail
shopping spikes during this season and businesses all over are
seeking temporary help. So just how good is it looking for the
2006 holiday season? According to John Rossheim, Monster
Senior Contributing Writer, retail sales and the hiring of
seasonal workers should be good -- not great -- in 2006, in
the eyes of industry and independent observers. The article
above delves into the reasons why and I would recommend taking
a few minutes to read more about it.
Even though
records might not be broken for big hiring increases, the
bottom line is this: a need still exists for temporary workers
this time of year, and that is good news for staffing
businesses everywhere. Even if you are not a huge fan of the
holidays in general, one cannot ignore the impact it makes in
industries like staffing and recruiting. This is especially
true as the US staffing industry is fast approaching having
three million workers on assignment.
As 2006 winds
down and we gear up for a successful 2007, hopefully you will
reflect on your accomplishments from the past year, spend time
with those you love and celebrate as you anticipate the
adventures ahead in the new year! From all of us at eEmpACT,
we wish you a safe and happy holiday
season. |
