Adapting to changing technologies
Nine times out of 10, we don't like change. We're creatures
of habit and we like what is familiar to us. That is
especially true when thinking of technology. Furthermore,
those of us who didn't grow up playing educational computer
games by the time we were two years old often have greater
difficulty adapting to and accepting new technological
advances, even when it might increase our productivity and
efficiency. Luckily, being part of an industry that thrives on
new technology might convince us change is not so bad after
all, no matter what era you were born.
So why all the
focus on change? As already discussed in the Windows Vista
article above, it's important to be mindful about how
Microsoft's new upcoming roll-out of Vista will impact all of
us someday. But as most big changes usually go, it will happen
slowly. And most likely you'll be ready and perhaps even
welcome the new change. When you think about it, Microsoft has
not released a new operating system since XP more than five
years ago. That's quite awhile for constantly changing
technology.
So as you're starting to hear more about
Vista, we hope your staffing business will be ready for a new
change, whenever the time comes. If nothing else, you can at
least count on your eEmpACT system working with Microsoft's
ever- changing technology, which will greatly ease any
headaches associated with implementing a new operating system;
you know your data will be secure.
